Blessed Celestine Of The Mother Of God, also known as Celestina Donati, Maria Anna Donati, and Marianna Donati, was born on 26 October 1848 in Marradi, Florence, Italy, as Maria Anna Donati. From an early age, she felt drawn to religious life and devoted herself to serving God and others.

In 1889, Blessed Celestine founded the Congregation of the Daughters of the Poor of Saint Joseph Calasanzio, also known as the Calasanzian Sisters. The primary mission of this congregation was to educate and provide assistance to the poor, as well as to the children of prisoners.
