Biography

Blessed Francis Piani, also known as Francis of Caldarola or Francis of Calderola, was born in 1424 in the small farming community of Caldarola, Macerata, Italy. Coming from humble beginnings, he witnessed the struggles and hardships faced by his fellow villagers, particularly at the hands of high-interest money lenders and pawn dealers. This experience deeply impacted Francis and motivated him to dedicate his life to serving others and promoting social justice.
