Biography

Blessed Josep Bru Boronat, also known as Blessed Josep Bru Boronat Montserrat and sometimes referred to as Montserrat, was a priest in the archdiocese of Tarragona, Spain. He was born on June 16, 1883, in the town of Mont-roig del Camp, located in the province of Tarragona.

From a young age, Josep Bru Boronat displayed a strong devotion to the Catholic faith. He pursued his vocation and was ordained as a priest, serving in various parishes within the archdiocese of Tarragona.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Josep Bru Boronat became a victim of the religious persecution that occurred. On July 27, 1936, he was martyred in the city of Reus, in the province of Tarragona.
