Blessed Maximiano Dronda Leoz, also known as Alipio José, was a devout monk and member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. He was born on 8 June 1916 in Ustárroz, Navarra, Spain. From an early age, Maximiano demonstrated a strong devotion to his faith, and his desire to serve God led him to join the Marist Brothers.
Maximiano's time as a religious brother was marked by his unwavering commitment to the principles of his order. In recognition of his martyrdom, Maximiano was venerated on 3 June 2013 by Pope Francis, who signed the decree of martyrdom. Further acknowledging his exemplary life and sacrifice, he was beatified by Pope Francis on 13 October 2013.
