Biography

Blessed Adalbert of Tegernsee, also known as Adalbert of Warngau or Adalbertus, was a Count of Warngau, which is located in modern Germany. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions in the establishment of the Tegernsee Abbey in Bavaria, Germany, as well as serving as its first abbot.

Adalbert was the brother of Blessed Ottokar of Tegernsee, and together they played crucial roles in the formation and development of the Tegernsee Abbey. Adalbert's commitment to religious life and his desire to establish a religious community led to the foundation of the abbey. Under his guidance, the abbey flourished both spiritually and intellectually, becoming a center of learning and piety in the region.
