Biography

Saint Anna The Prophetess, also known as Saint Anna the Prophetess of the Presentation, was a devout Jewish woman who features prominently in the biblical account of the life of Jesus Christ. Born in the 1st century BC, she hailed from the tribe of Asher and was the daughter of Phanuel.

At a young age, Saint Anna entered into marriage and was widowed by the age of twenty-one. Despite the hardships she faced, she remained faithful to her religious beliefs and became known for her strong devotion to God. It is said that at the age of seventy-two, Saint Anna was chosen to serve in the temple and was tasked with the honor of caring for the young blessed Virgin Mary, who was presented at the temple when she was only three years old.

Throughout her life, Saint Anna held steadfast belief in the prophecies of the Old Testament and eagerly awaited the coming of the Messiah. Her unwavering faith led her to spend much of her time in prayer and fasting, seeking a deeper connection with God. Nonetheless, her devotion and prophetic witness have left an indelible mark on the Christian faith, reminding believers of the anticipation and joy that accompanied the birth of Jesus Christ.
