Saint Gobnata, also known as Gobnait or Gobnet, was a revered sixth-century abbess and spiritual leader in Ireland. Born in County Clare in the early 6th century, she is best known as the founder of a convent located in Ballyvourney, Ireland.

According to historical accounts, Saint Gobnata discovered the site for her convent in a miraculous manner. Legend holds that she was guided by a white deer, which she followed until she came across a herd of nine white deer. It was here that Gobnata, recognizing the divine hand at work, established her dwelling and the convent that would become her spiritual home.

Having dedicated her life to a religious vocation, Saint Gobnata exemplified the qualities of holiness and devotion.
