She was the niece of another prominent saint, Saint Odilia of Alsace, who herself was a great influence on Gundelindis' spiritual journey. From a young age, Gundelindis exhibited a deep devotion to God and a strong desire to serve others. Recognizing her exceptional piety, her family ensured that she received a thorough education, instilling in her a strong moral foundation and intellectual curiosity.
