Saint Lazarus of Milan, also known as Lazzaro, was an esteemed Archbishop of Milan, Italy, during the mid-5th century. He lived in a tumultuous time when the invading Ostrogoths controlled the region. Born in an unknown year, Lazarus served as the Archbishop of Milan around 439. He played a significant role in developing and popularizing the Rogationtide litanies, which were initially devised as a means to seek protection from the Ostrogoths.
