Saint Lea of Rome, also known as Saint Lea or Saint Lea of Marcella, was born into a wealthy noble family in Rome, Italy. Saint Lea was renowned for her austere lifestyle and extreme penances, practicing extensive acts of self-discipline and renunciation. Her devotion to God was exemplified by her dedication to a life of poverty and simplicity. These intense acts of penance and self-mortification were a source of inspiration for those around her. Saint Jerome, a prominent Christian theologian and historian, wrote a panegyric praising Saint Lea's exceptional dedication to the faith.
