Biography
Saint Proculus of Pozzuoli, a deacon of the Church in Pozzuoli, Italy, stands as a witness to the faith during the brutal persecutions of Emperor Diocletian (c. 303-313 AD). Though the precise date of his birth remains unknown, his life was marked by steadfast commitment to Christ and his flock. As a deacon, he served the community with dedication, embodying the Church's pastoral care. His martyrdom arose from his courageous stance: he publicly protested the unjust executions of fellow Christians, refusing to remain silent in the face of the emperor's edicts. For this act of moral defiance and unwavering witness to the sanctity of life, he was imprisoned. Ultimately, he was put to death for his faith, sealing his testimony with his blood.
