Biography

Blessed Bernard of Fountains, also known as Bernard of Fontaines and Bernard of Citeaux, was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church as the thirteenth abbot of the Cistercian monastery of Fountains in England. Born in an undisclosed year, his early life remains largely unknown. However, it is believed that he entered the Cistercian Order at a young age, dedicated his life to prayer, and devoted himself to the ascetic ideals of the order.
