Biography
Blessed Bernard Scammacca, also known as Bernard of Catania, was born into a wealthy and pious family in Catania, Sicily, in the year 1430. While he received a good education, Bernard led a dissolute and extravagant youth, indulging in revelry and careless behavior. However, his life took a significant turn when he was wounded in a duel and forced into a period of recovery.
