Biography

Blessed Cecilia Butsi, also known as Sesilia Butsi, was born on 16th December 1924 in Ban Songkhon, Mukdahan, Thailand. She was the beloved daughter of Amato Sinuen and Agatha Thep. Cecilia's early life was marked by her deep devotion to her Catholic faith and her unwavering commitment to serving others.

At a young age, Cecilia began working in the kitchen of a Catholic mission in the archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng, Thailand. Despite living in a time of intense Christian persecution, she brought immense joy and courage to the mission, inspiring all those around her with her unwavering faith and dedication to her work.

The anti-Christian persecutions in Thailand escalated following the French departure from the country.
