Biography
Blessed Diego De Azevedo, also known as Didacus, was a courtier who served Prince Ferdinand. His life took an unexpected turn when he was assigned the task of escorting the prince's fiancée, only to discover upon his arrival that she had recently passed away. It was during this time that Diego encountered the influential figure of Saint Dominic de Guzman, who was delivering a sermon nearby. Deeply moved by Saint Dominic's words, Diego made a life-altering decision to renounce his former courtly existence and embrace a religious vocation.
