3 October 2021 by Pope Francis; the beatification was celebrated in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, Cosenza, Italy, presided by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro; the beatification miracle involved the saving of an unborn child which had nested in the cervical canal of the mother; physicians recommended abortion; the mother refused and prayed that Blessed Gaetana would intercede for her; the baby re-nested in the mother‘s uterus and was later born perfectly healthy
