Biography

Blessed Gebrand of Klaarkamp, also known as Gebrand of Bloemkamp, Gerbrand, and Gerbrandus, was a Benedictine Cistercian monk and abbot of the monastery at Klaarkamp in Frisia. He is also recognized as the founder of the house at Bloemkamp in 1191. Gebrand was born in Foigny, Laonnais, which is located in modern-day France. He lived during the 12th and early 13th centuries and dedicated his life to the religious life and service to God.
