Biography
Blessed Helen of Poland, also known as Helen of Hungary, Helena, Iolanda, Iolantha, Joheleth, Jolanda, Jolanta, Jolenta, and Yolanda, was born around 1235 in Hungary. She was the daughter of King Bela IV of Hungary and Maria Laskaris, and the niece of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. Additionally, she was the grand-niece of Saint Hedwig of Andechs and the younger sister of Blessed Cunegund of Poland, who became her guardian and raised her.
