Biography

Blessed Herman of Zahringen, also known as Herman I of Baden or Herman I, Margrave of Baden, was a member of the nobility and the Margrave of Zahringen. However, he decided to abandon his esteemed position and follow a different path in life. In search of a deeper spiritual calling, he chose to renounce his noble title and become a Benedictine monk at the renowned Cluny Abbey in France.
