Biography

Blessed Ida of Nivelles, also known as Saint Ida, was born around 1190 in Nivelles, Belgium. At the young age of sixteen, she joined the Benedictine Cistercians at Kerkheim in Leuven, Belgium. Later on, Ida and her community were transferred to Rameige, Belgium, where she would spend the remainder of her life devoted to her spiritual journey.
