Biography

Blessed Ignatius Uchibori was a child martyr of the Catholic Church in Japan, born within the Archdiocese of Nagasaki. He was the son of the Blessed Paulus Uchibori Sakuemon and the brother of two other blessed martyrs, Blessed Balthasar Uchibori and Blessed Antonius Uchibori. As a youth in the turbulent period of persecution against Christians in Japan, Ignatius steadfastly adhered to his faith despite the grave dangers faced by Catholics.
