Biography

Blessed Jerome Ranuzzi, also known as Jerome Ranucci and hailed as the Angel of Good Counsel, was born around the year 1410 in Sant'Angelo, Vado, located in the region of Pesaro-Urbino, Italy. He was born into a noteworthy middle-class family, with his father later receiving a noble rank.

Jerome Ranuzzi entered the religious order of the Servites and embarked on a journey of deep spiritual devotion and intellectual pursuits. He studied philosophy and theology at the renowned University of Bologna, further enriching his knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith.

Ordained as a priest, Blessed Jerome Ranuzzi became renowned for his learning and scholarship. His outstanding intellect and discernment led him to become a trusted advisor to Duke Frederick of Montefeltro, ruling over Urbino, Italy. It was in this capacity that he showcased his wisdom and offered insightful counsel to the duke, renowned for his own love of learning and patronage of the arts during the Italian Renaissance.
