Blessed Maria Bolognesi, born as Maria Teresa Bolognesi, was a devout lay woman in the diocese of Adria-Rovigo, Italy. She was born on October 21, 1924, in Bosaro, Rovigo, Italy, into a humble family. From a young age, Blessed Maria demonstrated a deep spiritual inclination and a strong devotion to Christ.

During her youth, Blessed Maria had a profound mystical experience where she received a vision of Jesus bestowing upon her three rings and five rubies. These rubies symbolized the Five Wounds of Christ, representing the passion and sacrifice endured by Jesus for humanity's redemption. This vision served as a profound spiritual awakening for Maria, shaping her devotion and commitment to her faith.

Despite her spiritual fervor, circumstances forced Blessed Maria to leave school prematurely to support her family. She willingly took on various jobs to contribute to the family's income, demonstrating her selflessness and dedication to her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Blessed Maria experienced a series of debilitating health conditions, which added to her physical and emotional suffering. Furthermore, on September 7, 2013, she was beatified by Pope Francis, signifying her beatific recognition as a Blessed in the Catholic Church.
