Biography

Blessed Mariana Of Jesus, also known as Lily of Madrid, Mariana Navarra de Guevara, Mary Ann of Jesus Navarro, and Maria Ana de Jesus Navarro de Guevara, was born on 17th January 1565 in Madrid, Spain. From a young age, Mariana was known for her exceptional piety and devotion to her faith.

At the age of 23, Mariana made the courageous decision to decline a marriage proposal and instead dedicated her life to God. She entered the Discalced Mercedarian Order in Madrid, Spain, where she began her religious journey as a nun.

Throughout her life, Blessed Mariana Of Jesus became renowned for her deep life of penance, unwavering devotion to the Eucharist, and intense prayer life. She captured the attention and admiration of her fellow sisters and superiors with her profound spiritual insights and virtues.
