Biography
Blessed Michael Joseph McGivney, born on August 12, 1852, in Waterbury, Connecticut, was the son of Irish immigrants. He displayed a strong faith and a desire for knowledge from a young age. In pursuit of his calling, he studied at the Saint-Hyacinthe Seminary in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, beginning in 1868. Recognizing his potential, he later completed his studies at Saint Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1873.
