Biography

Blessed Segundo Alonso González, also known as Segundo Alonso, was born on 13 May 1888 in the parish of Saint James of Nembra in Cabo, Asturias, in the diocese of Oviedo, Spain. He grew up in a devout Catholic family, deeply rooted in their faith. Segundo's two brothers followed their calling and became Dominican missionaries, while one of his sisters became a Dominican nun. This environment greatly influenced Segundo's spiritual upbringing.
