Biography

Blessed Simeon of Cava, also known as Simeone or Symeon, was the fourth abbot of the abbey of Cava dei Tirreni in Campania, Italy. He was elected to this position in the year 1124, during a period of great political turmoil between the state and the Church. Despite these challenging times, Blessed Simeon's rule was characterized by his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the local laity who sought shelter under the protection of the abbey.
