Blessed Utto of Metten, revered as the founding abbot of Metten Abbey in Bavaria, Germany, dedicated his life to monastic renewal in the early medieval period. Born into a family of religious devotion as the nephew of the blessed monk Gamelbert of Michaelsbuch, Utto embraced the monastic vocation with profound commitment. His most significant contribution was his pivotal role in establishing the monastery of Metten, where he served as its first abbot.
