Life

Professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor; aware of the danger he faced, sharpened after the kidnapping and torture he had already suffered, he was placed under close military surveillance and received numerous death threats. The sacrifice of his life was the culmination of a coherent and conscious path of apostolic commitment. His martyrdom is understood as the intention of the government's armed forces to strike, in him, a figure of the Guatemalan Catholic Church who had openly denounced the country's severe social injustices, working to promote dialogue and cooperation.
