Foundress of the Secular Institute of the Daughters of the Queen of the Apostles; she was a leading figure of Catholic lay life who did a great deal for ecclesial life and Catholic culture in Italy. She dedicated herself to social action, especially for women of every age and condition: factory workers, students, homemakers, noblewomen, peasant women and professionals.
