Francesco Blachnicki

Life

A diocesan priest; his life unfolded between two dictatorial regimes, the Nazi and the Communist. He experienced a turning point during his internment at Auschwitz as a political prisoner. After contracting typhus, he was transferred to the prison in Katowice, where he was tried and sentenced to death. He perceived the grace he received as a gift from God, and therefore decided to devote himself to Him in the priesthood for the glory of the Lord and the salvation of souls.
