Life

Diocesan priest, parish priest, founder of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Crucifix; he carried out his priestly work in a particularly troubled period, directing his apostolate toward the "existential peripheries": prostitutes, the poor, abandoned children, prisoners. He devoted himself to caring for cholera patients, was himself struck by the disease, and then recovered.
