Henri Caffarel

Life

Diocesan priest, founder of the association "Équipes Notre-Dame" and of the Secular Institute "Fraternity of Our Lady of the Resurrection"; consultor of the Commission for the Apostolate of the Laity for the preparation of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, he initiated the organization of weeks of prayer open to all, laity and priests, celibate and married. He showed particular interest in the Charismatic Renewal, promoted its spread, and himself drew great benefit from it for his work. On the subject of prayer he wrote many books. Numerous people and married couples had him as their spiritual companion.
