Life

A diocesan priest, formerly a professed member of the Order of Friars Minor; he was a leading figure in the religious and civil history of Colombia between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He worked amid a climate of radical secularism, marked by open opposition to the Church and persecution of religious institutes.
