Sor Mónica de Jesús

Life

Basilia Cornago Zapater, who would later be known as Sister Mónica de Jesús, was born in Monteagudo (Navarre) on 17 May 1889. She was the third of ten siblings. Raised in a rural family of deep Christian roots, at the age of 19 she felt the Lord's call to religious life and entered the Monastery of Santa María Magdalena of the Augustinians in Baeza. There she died in holiness on 14 June 1964.
