Of the Third Order of Saint Dominic, founder of the Portuguese Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena. She followed a spiritual path of continual ascent, though marked by obstacles which she overcame with deep faith, fortitude, and trust in God. She lived in poverty, offering her life for the good of her neighbor. Already as a laywoman she devoted herself to an apostolate of assistance to the less fortunate and carried out works of great social importance.
