Life

Diocesan priest. On 29 September 1944, while on his way to the Oratory of the Guardian Angels at Cerpiano to celebrate Mass, he stopped at the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Casaglia to save the Blessed Sacrament and give refuge to a small crowd of people frightened by the arrival of Nazi soldiers. He urged the men to take shelter in the woods, keeping only the women and children in the church, but negotiations with the Nazi troops to have them released failed, and all those present were taken to the cemetery and killed there. He was first brought back to the church and then also killed by gunshots to the head.
