A professed priest of the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor, founder of the Opera Sorriso Francescano and of the Congregation of the Little Handmaids of the Child Jesus; beginning by hosting children in the Capuchin friary of Genoa, he gave rise to the work that would become the Sorriso Francescano and to the Institute of the Little Handmaids of the Child Jesus, which women joined to care for the young guests of the Sorriso.
