Blessed Jacinto Martínez Ayuela, an Augustinian priest, was born on July 3, 1882, in Celadilla del Río, Palencia, Spain. He dedicated his life to serving God and the Catholic Church, ultimately giving the ultimate sacrifice during the Spanish Civil War. His unwavering faith and commitment to his religious beliefs led to his martyrdom and eventual recognition as a blessed within the Catholic tradition.

On October 28, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI further honored him by beatifying him, confirming his blessed status and inviting the faithful to venerate him as a model of faith and dedication.
