Biografía

Blessed Vicente Cecilia Gallardo was a Novice in the Vincentian Congregation of the Mission who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on September 10, 1914, in Cabra, Córdoba, Spain. Vicente dedicated his life to serving God and the Church, having joined the Vincentian Congregation in pursuit of his vocation.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, a time of great political and religious conflict in Spain, Vicente found himself caught up in the violence and persecution faced by many Catholics and religious individuals. Despite the danger, he courageously clung to his faith and remained steadfast in his commitment to serving God.

Vicente Ceclia Gallardo's life was tragically cut short when he was martyred on July 19, 1936, in Hortaleza, Madrid, Spain. His unfaltering faith and dedication to his beliefs led to his recognition as a martyr, a testament to his unwavering commitment to the Catholic Church.

On March 23, 2017, Pope Francis declared Vicente Cecilia Gallardo venerable, acknowledging his martyrdom. Subsequently, on November 11, 2017, Pope Francis presided over Vicente's beatification recognition at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena in Carabanchel, Madrid, Spain. The beatification ceremony was attended by thousands of faithful, and it was led by Cardinal Angelo Amato and Cardinal Carlos Osoro Sierra of Madrid, who offered prayers of gratitude for Vicente's courageous witness to Christ.

Today, Blessed Vicente Cecilia Gallardo serves as an inspirational figure, highlighting the importance of unwavering faith and dedication to God, even in the face of great adversity. His example reminds us of the sacrifices made by countless individuals who have given their lives for their faith and the values they hold dear. Although Vicente's representation is unknown, his story stands as a testament to the power of faith and the enduring spirit of the Catholic Church.
