Biografía

Saint Walpurga, born around 710 and canonized on 1 May c. 870 by Pope Adrian II, was an Anglo-Saxon missionary to the Frankish Empire. Her mission work played a significant role in spreading Christianity among the Saxon people during the early medieval period. Saint Walpurga is celebrated on February 25th, though her feast day is no longer observed on that date; instead, 'Saint Walpurgisnacht,' derived from the eve of her feast day, continues to be commemorated as May Eve in some regions, particularly Sweden where it is known as Valborg.
