Saint Philip of Zell, also known as Saint Philip of Worms, was an Anglo-Saxon pilgrim and hermit who lived near Worms, Germany during the 8th century. Although the exact details of his canonization are not known, he was officially recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church before the establishment of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Saint Philip of Zell is also known as the patron saint of babies. This designation is attributed to his reputation for interceding for the health and well-being of infants and young children. His feast day is celebrated on May 3rd each year, commemorating his entry into eternal life.
