Saint Sacer, a descendant of Roderic, King of Ireland, dedicated his life to the monastic vocation in the early Christian era of Ireland. Born into a noble lineage, he chose the path of contemplative service, seeking to establish a center of prayer and learning amidst the burgeoning Christian communities of the island. His most significant contribution was the founding of the monastery of Saggard, situated in the vicinity of Dublin.
