Saint Sisenando of Cordoba, a devoted deacon of the Church of San Acisclo in Cordoba, Spain, lived and served during the era of Moorish occupation in Al-Andalus. His life was marked by steadfast commitment to his Christian faith amidst the challenges faced by the local Christian community under Muslim rule. As a deacon, he faithfully administered the sacraments and provided spiritual guidance to his flock, embodying the Church's presence in the heart of the city. His unwavering witness to the Gospel, however, drew the ire of authorities. He was martyred during the persecutions instigated by Emir Abd-el-Rahman II, who sought to suppress Christian practice and assert Islamic dominance.
