Our Lady Aparecida, also known as Our Lady Who Appeared, is a revered Catholic religious figure and the principal patroness of Brazil. Her story dates back to October 1717, when Dom Pedro de Almeida, Count of Assumar, passed through the area of Guarantinqueta, situated in the Paraiba river valley.
