Our Lady of Sorrows of Castelpetroso, is a revered Catholic Marian devotional title. The origins of this devotion can be traced back to a series of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to two young shepherdesses, Serafina and Bibiana, which occurred on 22 March and 1 April 1888. During these visions, Mary appeared to the shepherdesses in a state of profound sorrow, depicted as kneeling before the body of Christ....
