Saint Achilles of Larissa, also known as Achilles of Thessaly, was born in the 3rd century in Cappadocia, Asia Minor (in modern-day Turkey). He was born into an imperial Roman patrician family and received an excellent education, particularly in philosophy. After the death of his parents, Saint Achilles decided to dedicate his life to serving God and helping the poor....
