Saint Aedan of Ferns, also known as Aeddan Foeddog, Aedh-og, Aidan, Aidus, Edan, Hugh, Maedoc, Maidoc, Maodhóg, Mo-Aedh-og (= my dear Aedh), Moedhog, and Mogue, was born around the year 550 in Inisbrefny, Templeport, County Cavan, Ireland.
