Saint Albert The Great, also known as Albert of Lauingen, Albertus Magnus, Doctor Expertus, and Doctor Universalis, was born in 1206 in Lauingen an der Donau, Swabia, which is part of modern-day Germany. He was the son of a military nobleman and was destined for a career in the military. However, he felt a calling to the religious life and joined the Dominican Order....
