Saint Aldhelm of Sherborne, also known as Adhelm or Aldelmus, was born in the year 640 in England. He came from a noble family and was related to the King of Wessex. As a young man, Aldhelm lived for a period as a hermit near Wiltshire, England, where he dedicated himself to a life of prayer and solitude. Seeking further spiritual guidance and education, Aldhelm became a monk at Malmesbury Abbey in Wiltshire....
